Napoli End of Season Report (fm5400 2010-2011)

Napoli struggles in the 2nd half of the season, losing almost everygame, team morale is at its lowest, but thanks to a good performance during the 1st half of the season, Napoli managed to meet its season expectation.

Napoli Top Players:

Obviously Lavezzi was Napoli's Best Player of the season, leaving his natural striker position for the unfamiliar right wing spot, and he delivered very well, leading the team in goals scored and assist. He's good form for the club has been rewarded as he is included in the Serie A Team of the season.





Marek Hamsik

Hamsik was the heart of Napoli's Midfield, a good leader, he scored goals whenever needed, showed good passing skills, was involved in most of the team plays, a player who can be relied to when needed.


Hamsik want to leave Napoli

Napoli needed Hamsik, but the player asked for a transfer request 2 times already and I denied it both and now Hamsik has poor opinion on me, He's angry with me, I dont know if next season he'll be at Napoli.

Although Napoli has a rising superstar Marco Verratti, I dont see Verratti ready to fill in the shoes that Hamsik would be leaving,  Eden Hazard was heavily inside my head to replace Hamsik if I cant convince him to stay,  other name being considered was Javier Pastore, but his Non-Euro status is one big issue.


Neymar

Napoli's big summer acquisition was playing ok, I used him as left winger and the striker position, bagging 14 goals and assisting on 9 occasions.  He even outscored Napoli's main striker Edinson Cavani.

Wonderkid

Neymar was branded "Wonderkid" and with good guidance he can became World Class, his 1st season with Napoli isnt a big one,  but he have big potential and as long as his development continues, he'll be a big star at Napoli.



Problem Position:

Left  Back
Napoli's dark spot would be at the defense, Roberto Carlos doesnt have it anymore, Dodo is too young and in-experience to fill that position.


Right Back
Fabio has been given enough playing time so fit in the right back position, but he failed,  Its stupid of me of keep using him as a right back, I just thought back then that he could play in that position because he's a natural right footed player, but he didnt play well, during the later part of the campaign, I started using him as a left back to replace Roberto Carlos and he showed some brilliance there, I should've used him there earlier.


CB
Napoli's other problematic position was the CB area, the pairing of Fazio and Cannavaro was OK but Napoli was lacking a dominant force at the middle


GK
I guess Kameni was a good keeper, but he conceded too many goals, 56 in all competition, but that was due to bad defending.

next season,  Napoli would invest heavily on defense, reinforcement is badly needed!
